Dialogue-driven visual-novel-adventure about escape and resistance during World War II.

«When We Disappear» enables a new kind and future-oriented Holocaust education for the next generation and consists of a history-based and story-driven game, educational materials to promote social skills, and a digital platform for schools and teachers.

The game is set in 1943 and tells the story of Hannah, who escapes the ordeal of the Second World War with the help of the Resistance. Players are put in the shoes of a child and must escape across Europe with the help of brave people along the way.

The project is being developed in close partnership with historians, scientists and researchers at the Lucerne Institute for History Education and Memory Culture at the Lucerne University of Teacher Education, and combines scientific research, storytelling and meaningful play.
